This is a spectacular cluster of Herkimer crystals. There are four large crystals with a number of smaller ones too. The interiors have amazing planes and veils, throwing vibrant rainbows, just about everywhere you look.  The back has some matrix attached, giving a smoky hue to to the crystal, however the crystals are clear. There are also calcite crystals growing on some of the herkimers. Carbon inclusions can also be found. These crystals are from the region in and around Herkimer, NY are known as Herkimer diamonds. While they are quartz crystals and not diamonds at all, their double terminated formation along with their brilliant luster are reminiscent of diamonds. Herkimer diamonds are harder than most quartz varieties too. Herkimer’s have a high vibration and are associated with the third eye and crown chakras.
