Deep Russet Amethyst Elestial Crystal Orange River (M11137)SOLD!The Orange River is a natural boarder
between South Africa and Namibia. The Orange River originates Drakensberg
Mountains and covers a distance of 1800 kilometers through South Africa,
flowing through the southern part of the Kalahari and Namib Desert before it
exits into the Atlantic Ocean. However in dry years, this river it does not
reach the sea. The areas where Orange River crystals are mined are remote and
barren. Most of the crystals we acquire are from the Pella a small village in
the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. Recently beautiful deep amethyst
elestial crystals have been found in this area. Red hematite phantoms accent
the rich purple hues in a dynamic and beautiful combination. One glance at this crystal and you can see she is an old spirit, for she wears her years in her formation. You can see the etchings that time has left on her exterior, and wears her bumps and bruises as a testament of the trials of the past. Matrix still clings to her exterior and can be found as small inclusions with the crystal too. Her elestial formation isn't as pronounced as some, but it is gracefully present. Her interior is just beautiful, the purple ranges from a deep violet purple to lavender with wisps of smoky running through her to give a beautiful russet color. Back light the crystal to reveal her interior vibrancy. A few dots of lepidocrocite create a bright red counterpoint to her rich autumn colors. Her energy is slow and methodical, she has a good dose of down home comfort.
The crystal measures 2.5" x 1.75" x 1.5" and weighs 4 oz. Smoky Quartz is almost a default crystal in any crystal layout.
