Lepidocrocite included quartz goes by two names: harlequin or fire quartz. Lepidocrocite inclusions are fiery red specks that you can sometimes also find with hematite or goethite inclusions. Chemically goethite and lepidocrocite are the same, differing in structure. Lepidocrocite included quartz is an uncommon occurrence that results in fabulously gorgeous, mostly small crystals; large fire crystals are rare indeed. This beautiful polished fire quartz point is from Madagascar.

Most of the inclusions within this point are black goethite, however there are metallic grey flecks of hematite and translucent red lepidocrocite inclusions too. The interior has stunning clarity throughout with a misty cap of interior veils. All of the inclusions are just below the surface in a phantom layer, like a light coating of sprinkles. Goethite has a very physical energy, helping to pull in energy to this plane. Hematite adds a protective energy that fortifies the physical body too. Fire quartz has a very bright, sparkling energy to it, and infuses us with vitality. Work with it to open your root or base chakra, and to encourage flow of Kundalini energy. Harlequin or Fire quartz is quartz containing red dots or strings of lepidocrocite. It provides a beautiful "dancing" energy, which when activated, stimulates the energy flow on all levels.
