Sweet Rainbows Herkimer DT Quartz Crystal (M11594) $48.00Crystals from the region in and around Herkimer, NY are known as Herkimer diamonds. While they are quartz crystals and not diamonds at all, their double terminated formations along with a brilliant luster are reminiscent of diamonds. Herkimer diamonds are slightly harder than most quartz varieties with hardness of 7.5 – 8 Mohs while quartz is 7. Herkimer’s have brilliant clarity, but will sometimes have crackled interior that throws off beautiful rainbows. Some have carbon inclusions, and on rare occasions you can find an enhydro bubble! Herkimer’s have a high vibration and are associated with the third eye and crown chakras. They work to break through energy blockages and introduce higher vibrations into your energy field. They work to enhance dream work and astral travel. They are also known for raising the vibrations of less intense stones for greater healing. Their energy can be a bit overwhelming if you are sensitive, so be sure to have some black tourmaline or smoky quartz nearby. Herkimer diamonds are beautiful high vibrational healing spirits. The interior of this Herkimer is vibrantly clear, with the few planes present emitting bright rainbows. There are several bridge crystals that also give off rainbows where the two crystals meet. One side of the crystal is dotted with matrix, clearly showing its earthly origins. This bright spirit is filled with light and joy. It is in almost perfect condition, with just a minor bruise or two beyond the patch with matrix.
The crystal measures 1.25" x 0.8" x 0.75" and weighs 0.3 oz. A crystal with a point at each end is called double terminated (DT). It is believed that they have the ability to receive or transmit energy from both ends. They are used for alignment, patience, perseverance, protection, dreaming, and astral projection. Double terminated crystals strengthen energy flow, and are especially useful when you need to share or exchange energy between you and another person. Double terminated crystals are very important to people doing healing work for themselves or others. A crystal with a rainbow(s) inside that is caused by light being refracted by the prismatic effect of a crack or inclusion is called a Rainbow. The refraction is often temperature sensitive causing the rainbow to appear and disappear. It is believed that these crystals exhibit the closest manifestation of pure white light that can be witnessed on the physical plane. Rainbow crystals are used during meditation to escort us into the realm of the pure white light and can bring depth and clarity to dreams, help manifest wishes, and overcome negativity to be able to love life in the present moment. |
