Rare Green Kaokoveld Dioptase in Matrix (M8372) $40.00

Dioptase is a beautiful green-blue crystal formation, and its crystals have beautiful luster. Dioptase is a rare occurrence as it is only mined in a few places world wide and one of those is now closed. It is known to be difficult to photograph, and one can best appreciate it in person. The crystals may be small, but that has no bearing on its energy. It is a powerful spirit, active in the heart and throat chakras. It breaks down long standing emotional issues to get them out of your system once and for all. It has a very soothing healing presence, and can calm the anxiety after trauma to let you heal, and makes for an excellent piece to have nearby after surgery. It has a very warming and comforting energy in this area. Some pieces are on a matrix of calcite which adds an energetic boost to this already powerful spirit and brings energy from the crown and third eye chakra, stimulating creative endeavors.

The specimens of dioptase we have recently obtained are from a new mine in the Kaokoveld, Namibia. While the old Tsumeb mine was the richest source for dioptase while they were open, the only sources of dioptase for many years were from old collections or an odd piece from Arizona, Russia or the Congo. This new mine is largely unexplored and is being mined by only a few people, we’re sure to see many beautiful specimens from this mine as time passes. From the specimens we have seen so far, it looks very promising. The dioptase from the Kaokoveld mine are distinguishable by their slightly longer and thinner crystals than those found at other locations. The dioptase is often found with pale to deeper blue Plancheite on a quartz matrix.

Several nice sized dioptase crystals are found nestled within the matrix of quartz and plancheite. Several smaller crystals are found dotted on the matrix too. Since dioptase is quite fragile, working with it is sometimes easier to work with in matrix. Some of the matrix is slightly smoky and has a subtle grounding effect.

The formation measures 3" x 2.5" x 1.5" and weighs 5.4 oz.

Dioptase can be used to both clear and simulate all of the chakras to the higher level of awareness and action, bringing an invigoration and a refreshing energy to the physical, emotional, and intellectual bodies. It is said to stimulate memory of past lives, urging one to deal with issues that occur time and time again, assisting one to progress in their cycle. It has very soothing healing energy.
