Gorgeous Caliente Fluorescent Pink Calcite (M9963)

While in Tucson I found some really fascinating calcite crystals. The pink was unlike any others I had seen before, bright pink with a white matrix, and very unlike the soft colors of mangano calcite. This calcite is from Coahuila, Mexico and has similar properties to a find of calcite in Terlingua, Texas. This calcite fluoresces pink, but under shortwave UV it fluoresces blue. It is also phosphorescent (meaning it glows once the light source has been removed). Unlike most minerals that fade when exposed to direct sunlight, this calcite gains a stronger pink color. It likes the western sun, and while it takes a few weeks for the color change, lighter colored stones will slowly deepen in hue! This transition has no effect on the fluorescence.

The energy of this calcite is stronger than other calcites. Most colored calcite has a thick fuzzy energy but this calcite has a high fine energy that is filled with the spice of life. It brings joy and vitality to the heart chakra. It puts a skip back into your step bringing back the vitality of youth. Its message is Carpe Diem - Seize the day!
