Ancient Egyptians not only use it for decoration of tombs, in jewelry, it was also ground into powder to use as medicine and eye shadow! China and Europe have much history of using Lapis Lazuli in decorations. Lapis Lazuli is known for its work in opening the third eye. It is knows as a stone to bring one to inner peace. It assists during meditation providing one self-knowledge and reflection. It also has a soothing energy. It assists one to identify and dispel negative thought patterns, and is especially healing for any abuse survivor. Its calming energy also assists one to overcome insomnia.

The quality of our recent Lapis Lazuli purchases is of the highest grade, in fact it's quite phenomenal. You really can tell the quality just by looking at the pictures. Lapis has always been one of my favorite stones. It is not only beautiful to look at but always seems to have an aura of deep mystery and intrigue. I'm always reminded of the either the mysteries of the Egyptian Pyramids and/or the mysteries of the universe. There is so much more yet to be discovered and it's intensely exciting. The color of this freeform is a rich, deep denim blue with realms of shimmering pyrite and splashes of white calcite surrounding its edge. It's polished on the top and in its natural state on its sides and bottom. Its quite stunning. This beautiful mineral is from Afghanistan.
