I’ve always loved working with African crystals and minerals. The quartz crystals all seem to have an ancient and wise energy that is completely untamed. And the colors and inclusions you can find in African quartz are so complex and so lovely. It feels like a homecoming for me whenever we are blessed with crystals from Africa. This is a beautiful clear smoky quartz point from Madagascar. The clarity is quite stunning accented by veils that give the appearance they are speckled with dew drops. These veils glisten in the light. A fairly large enhydro bubble morphs within its chamber, it doesn't have much movement, but is easily seen.

 Smoky quartz has very joyous energy despite its grounding nature. It is an excellent stone to facilitate grounding especially during directed work with higher energy stones. Smoky Quartz should be part of every healer’s collection. It is grounding, protective and can transform negative energy into positive energy. It is a very joyful crystal, even though it is grounding. By giving you roots, it gives you wings! It is good to use with stones that are exceptionally vibration such as Moldavite and Sugilite. It is also excellent for warding against nightmares.

Enhydro means "water within". These are crystals that contain pockets of pure water, mysteriously trapped in ages gone by. Water has been found in chalcedony, agate and quartz and is usually perceived by the presence of moving gas bubbles in the water. Very occasionally, there are pockets of water with no bubble but a tiny floating inclusion.

As water indicates the emotions, these crystals can have a profound effect on our emotional life. In Nature, water that cannot move becomes stagnated - as emotions that cannot be expressed stagnate. Enhydros contain water trapped in very limited space, but the water has remained clean and pure for millennia.
