Elestial formations are truly beautiful; they are complex in their simplicity. Smoky quartz is most frequently found in this formation. Smoky elestials have a range of color from light to dark and different degrees of depth to their formation, often occurring with phantoms and occasionally even enhydro bubbles. I find them endlessly fascinating; it is so easy to get lost in their formations. While they have certain formations in common, there really is no such thing as a typical elestial. They are known by many different names, jacare quartz, skeletal quartz, and crocodile quartz just to name a few. Elestials can form as interlocking plates and complex etchings some say the formations look like the scales of a crocodile (hence the origins of that name). With skeletal elestials, you can see layers of crystals almost like the layers of an onion; they are often accented by clay inclusions. Elestials can also have doorways and self-healed formations; they can appear as wands, scepters, overlays, and sometimes as a combination between an elestial and cathedral.

Each smoky elestial has a unique energy; however they all have certain qualities in common. They all have grounding energies, yet combined with their higher vibration energies, they give you the comfort and security you need to explore, knowing that help is nearby if you need it. They make the higher vibration energies more accessible, adjusting it to your current needs and abilities. They are companion crystals, working with you as you grow, matching your needs. They are all master healers; most have a golden energy like honey that is soothing and nourishing. They work to cleanse and purify all systems of the body. Every healing collection should include at least one smoky elestial!

Elestials are master healers and work on many-many levels. Elestial Quartz crystals used in body layouts they will purge toxicity from the major organs into the bloodstream, from which they can then be released from the body by drinking plenty of water. Do not work with Elestial Quartz Crystals if you do not want an abundance of lessons and change!

The translation for Elestial is “Crystal of the Angels” and thus has a strong link with the Angelic realm. One may retrieve information stored in Elestials by running your hands over the etching of the crystal, before long your hands start moving on their own, you are reading the crystal much the same way as the blind use Braille language. It is best to clear the mind and have no expectations through this process.

Smoky Quartz is almost a default crystal in any crystal layout. It is grounding, protective and can transform negative energy into positive energy. As one friend put it to me, Smoky Quartz is good for humans, because we are currently quite murky beings ourselves! It is a very joyful crystal. It is helpful to hold if you have other crystals that UN-ground you such as Moldavite.

It can also be found in Elestial form and on rare occasions, Cathedral formation. Smoky Quartz clusters can be found, but are really quite rare. Sometimes Smoky combines with Amethyst, which gives you the benefits of both, as well as creating their own unique energy combined. Phantom crystals in Smoky are very powerful in breaking old patterns and blockages.
