Namibian Pietersite displays chatoyant blue, gold and reds that are absolutely stunning in the light. Namibian Pietersite has been increasingly difficult to find as there are no reported new mine sources and is now highly sought after. Namibian pietersite differs from the more common Chinese Pietersite due to a minor difference in chemical make up, resulting in a different range of colors. Namibian Pietersite is rich in blues and golds with hints of red, while Chinese Pietersite is commonly found in gold and red. Pietersite is related to tiger-eye forming in brecciated (broken up) patterns which creates stunning patterns of chatoyant colors. This beautiful mineral has been polished into large tumbles that are easy to carry in a pocket or purse.

The colors are very subtle on this piece in shimmering steel grays with hints of yellow and blue. A patch of chalcedony presents itself on the one of the sides.
