Ocean jasper was only discovered a handful of years ago, and has quickly become one of the more hotly desirable stones available. Unfortunately, its mining process precludes lots of this material being available, and my understanding is that it is becoming more difficult to find. To harvest this unusual material, miners must row off the coast of Madagascar at low tide, where they can find these fascinating and unique stones lying in shallow pools. They must collect as much as they can before the tide begins to come back in, severely limiting access to these beautiful stones. Originally called orbicular jasper because of the round markings in the stone, the name ocean jasper quickly took hold, giving credit to its unusual mining process. This unusual mineral can be found in almost every color, with striking patterns. Ocean jasper has a soothing energy that can often be used to spark creativity.

This darling sphere is a divine blend of contrasting shades of green and pink. One half of the sphere is swirling with shades of coral pink and white while the other half is a gorgeous shade of pine green with small dispersions of white jasper. The pine green realm of the sphere has three natural areas of sparkling green crystalline vugs (cavities).
