Amethyst from the Las Vigas mine in Vera Cruz Mexico is becoming increasingly rare. The mine has been exhausted and searches for new deposits nearby have been unproductive. These amethysts are known for their dazzling clarity with purple terminations that fade to milky or clear quartz at the bottom. Remarkable etchings cascade down the exterior of the crystal while it retains its brilliant luster. Its energy that can only be compared to a crystal from the Brandberg mines in Namibia. Like the Brandbergs, the crystals are small, but they don’t have to be big due to their concise nature. Their energy is lighter and higher in vibration than amethyst from other locales. This beautiful group of Vera Cruz crystals are unusually large in size and they intersect to form an unusual "V" shape. One crystal is clearly double terminated and is actually two crystals growing side by side. Their interiors shimmer with bright rainbows. Although one termination of this crystal appears to be damaged, it is actually a contact surface from another crystal. However, the other main crystal of this formation does not have a termination at either end. Despite the lack of terminations, its energy is very direct. Tufts of green chlorite can be found in both of the crystals, helping to remove bacteria or toxins from the brain. This assists the energy in cleansing away the cobwebs at the crown chakra.
