Electric Cobaltian Salrose Calcite (M4844) $28.00 It amazed me the first time I ever saw cobaltian calcite. I didn't think such a vivid fuchsia pink color could exist in the mineral kingdom! But I was wrong, and the color has continued to amaze me. Cobaltian calcite goes by a few names, salrose, cobaltian, and sphaerocobaltite to name a few. It is often found in copper deposits, and you can often find it with malachite. It forms as a thin layer of brilliantly colored crystals on a dolomite matrix typically. The color is bright and glitters beautifully. This lovely specimen is from the Congo. Because of its copper presence, I wouldn't think this is a good mineral to use in elixirs, but my own research has shown that people do use cobaltian calcite in elixirs. Please be aware of the mineral composition of the stones you use when making gemstone elixirs.
The piece measures 3.25" x 2.75" x 1.75" and weighs 10.5 oz. Cobaltian calcite is a stone that speaks of dreams. it is also an excellent piece for working with the heart chakra or as a table stone in areas where strife or conflict may occur. |
