This is a beautiful formation of rhodocrosite. Soft pink formations have gorgeous quartz crystals with sphalerite crystals on top. Rhodocrosite is a one of the rarer forms of calcite, and is usually very expensive. The darker "gemmier" colors are the more sought after, while the pale pinks are considered the lesser grade material. Usually rhodocrosite is banded with layers of dark and light colors. Since this piece is lighter in color, it makes a piece this size much more affordable to the everyday crystal worker. It has all of the energy of rhodocrosite.
