Yosemite National Park, CA For our vacation, we flew 3,000 miles to visit the Yosemite National Park in California. The mountainous region was carved by glaciers in the last ice age. The results are a geologically amazing and aesthetically awe-inspiring area. Spring is the time of year to see the amazing waterfalls that cascade into Yosemite Valley. I took over 600 pictures of this gorgeous area. Here's a small sampling. The images are large, so get comfy if you want to download them!

Half of a good vacation is having somewhere peaceful to come back to, a home away from home. We were lucky to come across a wonderful B&B 14 miles from Yosemite's south entrance. Ravensbrook is a charming and cozy place run by Sherri Smith and her gorgeous orange cat, Marmalade. Sherri's full breakfasts were top notch, and the rooms spacious and oh-so-comfortable! Sherri is a wonderfully gracious and accomodating hostess, and we loved our time with her. If you ever want to visit Yosemite, or have a romantic and serene weekend getaway, look Ravensbrook up. We are certainly glad we did!
