The colors are so deep and rich you would think this sphere is bloodstone at first. It has a nurturing energy that feeds the physical body.

Ocean jasper is a beautiful form of jasper only found off the coast of Madagascar. Unfortunately, its mining process precludes lots of this material being available, and my understanding is that it is becoming more difficult to find. To harvest this unusual material, miners must row off the coast of Madagascar at low tide, where they can find these fascinating and unique stones lying in shallow pools. They must collect as much as they can before the tide begins to come back in, limiting access to these beautiful stones. Originally called orbicular jasper because of the round markings in the stone, the name “ocean jasper” quickly took hold, giving credit to its unusual mining process. This unusual mineral can be found in almost every color, with striking patterns.

This is a stone that sparks creativity, working with the sacral chakra through the throat, aiding with self-expression.
