What a big beauty this citrine is! That cathedral formation is just fantastic! At first glance the peaks look frosty. Looking closer, that frostiness is actually under the surface and is a very "young" phantom layer that is still being formed! That's a pretty awesome glimpse into the timeline of this citrine. Oh, and can we talk about the color of this baby? Get lost in the golden warmth of this citrine while you're exploring all of the hidden formations of this gorgeous cathedral!

Phantom quartz records the stages of growth of a crystal. Phantoms mark a time of no growth, where another mineral has settled on the surface before the crystal began to grow again.
